This module has helped me think about student-centered assessment in the following ways...
I am thinking more about how to have students help create and implement teh assessments in my classroom. For example, creating a rubric for a project with my class. It would be interesting to see what they would assess on their rubric compared to what I would assess.
I am also thinking about how to get students more involved in the assessment process. I am going to do more peer-assessments, student interviews, and student input into projects. I am hoping that the student involvement will act as a motivater!

My Unit
My proposed Unit Title is The Wizard Of Oz. This is a SRA reading unit that is taught in my 7th grade resource class to meet the IEP goals of fluency, decoding, and comprehension. The following are the questions:
Curriculum-Framing Questions
Essential Question
Is there really no place like home?
Unit Questions
· Of all the stories, why has The Wizard of Oz stood the test of time and been so memorable to students?
· How would the Wizard of Oz change if a Dorothy never got back to Kansas?
· What would happen in a modern day Wizard of Oz story?
· What are good qualities of a home?
Content Questions
· What is alike and different from the movie to the book?
· How have reading fluency, comprehension, and decoding improved throughout the unit?
· In what ways are we building written expression through reading?
Thanks for all of your help. I am looking forward to creating a more exciting way to improve reading and writing skills with more technology!

Module Instruction Post 9/15
This module has made me think about my role as an instructional designer in the following ways...
It has made me think of all of the resources I can show students through technology. It gives me ideas on how to use technology to modify and build my lesson plans. I teach resource and I have to teach to the goals set in the Individual Education Plan. This is another way for me to research units and fins new ways to teach students with a variety of needs.
I am also seeing that Project-based learning can involve many projects under a given topic. Hopefully, this will allow students to see the usefulness of what they are learning.
I am feeling overwhelmed by all of this new information. I am also excited to reach students through computers. This will be motivating to my students since they love computers.
